Healthspan is about how long and well you stay healthy. It’s about LIVING longer not just living LONGER. It incorporates many tenets about how you live your life. Remember that though “diet may load the gun, diet and lifestyle pull the trigger.”
Of all the various mechanisms of actions and pathways by which we age – and there are so many with increasing bodies of evidence – diet is the number one cause of early death and disability in the world. Diet contributes to all of the most commonly studies pathways of aging in different ways and there are simple explanations and ways to apply them to your everyday life.
I have shifted my brand from the “Plant-Based Dietitian©” to “Healthspan Dietitian©” because after 15 plus years, “plant-based” has beautifully become commonplace and understood better than ever. I am confident that “plant-based” is considered healthy and ideal. Healthspan is the next wave of the future – it centers on a plant-based diet as the cornerstone for optimal health and also includes other lifestyle variables that come into play….including movement social connections, mindfulness, sleep, and more….
Technology and sociology have pushed these concepts to the forefront of conversation and I want to be here to support you on your journey. With over 25 years of working one-one-one with thousands of people to improve their healthspan, I am excited to extend the branches of these conversations and delve deeper.
