Would you include stevia in the list of zero calories sweeteners? I like to put stevia in my green smoothies to balance out the bitterness. thanks!

    Great posts lately, Julieanna!

I do put stevia in that list and do not recommend it! Try a date or some fresh or frozen fruit for natural sweetness and added nutrients.

I am vegetarian, I really love potatoes but there are so many people saying white starches are bad for weight loss. I am not as fond of sweet potatoes (that have more fiber), I had been using organic and non organic instant mashed potato flakes. prepared with water and spices. I do not use any type of milk or butter (dairy or vegan). The package says prepared plain they are 60 to 80 calories per serving. What are your thoughts and suggestions on starches such as sushi rice and potatoes? Should I have them? I have tried cauliflower mashed potatoes but they are just not the same.

Julieanna, I am living proof of this. I went total vegan – using the Dr Esselystyn plan (no eggs, no oils, no meat/fish, no dairy products) from Cleveland Clinic and lost 25 pounds in under 2 months – my energy level was unbelievable, my skin was smoother and more hydrated, my blood work showed major changes in lipid levels and glucose…..unfortunately sometimes we need some kind of epiphany to get us to change. In my case, that was a stroke. It's been six months and I've recovered completely – I worked hard in physical therapy for it and practiced Constraint Induced Therapy to increase my brain's neuroplasticity. Just three months after the stroke I was already riding 12-14 miles on my bike 4 times a week, now I am at 20 miles. I began the plan the day after the stroke, while still in the hospital – of course that's easy when your choice is hospital food 🙂 I believe the extreme vegan plan from Dr Esselystyn was a major player in my recovering so quickly and can't leave this post without thanking my Creator for knowledge, wisdom and favor. Thanks for letting me share!

Mariana Mancera B I am basically following the McDougall diet… I have limited oil to almost nothing, and most of my plate now is greens (mostly kale, cabbage, chard, etc..) I try to stick to whole foods and cook as little as possible. I make my own sauerkraut. I drink water mostly but also make my own kambucha and kefir water lemonaide. I only eat if I'm hungry. That's pretty much it. It was weird the first couple months, but now I can't believe how easy it is. I'm over 80 lb lost now. 🙂 https://www.drmcdougall.com/health/education/free-mcdougall-program/

Losing Weight on a Vegan Diet | Plant Based Dietitian, The President is merely the most important among a large number of public servants. He should be supported or opposed exactly to the degree which is warranted by his good conduct or bad conduct, his efficiency or inefficiency in rendering loyal, able, and disinterested service to the nation as a whole. Therefore it is absolutely necessary that there should be full liberty to tell the truth about his acts, and this means that it is exactly as necessary to blame him when he does wrong as to praise him when he does right. Any other attitude in an American citizen is both base and servile. To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. Nothing but the truth should be spoken about him or any one else. But it is even more important to tell the truth, pleasant or unpleasant, about him than about any one else.
